    Journal PapersKoomesh , Volume 23 , Issue 1, 2021 January 10, {Pages 56-63 }

    Abstract

    Materials and Methods: Equalization of breast cancer burden trend in Iran and the EMR during the years 1990 to 2017 was tested using Cochrane Armitage method. The trend of changes in breast cancer burden in Iran and the EMR during this period was examined by three regression models and the best model was determined based on the model utility indicators. DALY index prediction between 2018 and 2027 was performed using exponential smoothing procedure.Results: Statistically, DALY index trend in Iran and the EMR did not differ significantly. In Iran, the DALY index in 2013 increased from equivalent index in the EMR. The trend of DALY index in Iran has increased rapidly from 2000 to 2015 and then, until 2017, the growth rate of this index decreas

    Journal PapersInternational Journal of Preventive Medicine , Volume 12 , Issue 1, 2021 January 1, {Pages 9 }

    Abstract

    Background: Recurrent event data arise frequently in longitudinal medical studies. In many situations, there are a large portion of patients without any recurrences, manifesting the “zero-inflated” nature of the data. Moreover, there often exists a terminal event which may be correlated with the recurrent events. The goal of this study is to extend the application of joint frailty model to identify the prognostic factors associated with curing in patients with breast cancer. Methods: As a prospective study, medical records of women who had been attended to Cancer Research Center, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences from January 1998 to February 2016 were reviewed. Finally, after an initial review of medical records, 711 patie

    Abstract

    IntroductionA vast amount of research has been conducted to identify human and organizational factors that contribute to the occurrence of occupational incidents. Considering the identified factors, the question is how much the occupational incident probability will decrease in the absence of one or more recognized contributory factors.MethodsTwenty-one fatal accident reports were selected for Root Cause Analysis (RCA). The contributory factors were identified by content analysis of the accident scenarios. A 5-point Likert questionnaire was developed to measure the probability of identified factors. Using the identified contributory factors and their corresponding probabilities, a Bayesian network model was constructed for estimating the pr

    Abstract

    In biomedical studies, competing risks framework in which an individual fails due to multiple causes is frequently available. Joint modeling of longitudinal measurements and competing risks has become prominent, recently. In this paper, we proposed a joint model considering fully-specified subdistribution model introduced by Ge and Chen (2012) and longitudinal measurements. The proposed model links a linear mixed effect submodel to a fully-specified subdistribution submodel through a shared random effect. A Bayesian paradigm using MCMC is adopted to estimate the parameters. Performance of the proposed model is illustrated using a simulation study. In addition, this model is used to analyze the lung transplant dataset.
